This was such a waste of money.So deceiving in its description. There is nothing here that you can honestly use to call it as the " Get down to the nuts and bolts Do It Book". There is nothing conclusive, no direct instructions to do anything. No guidance on how to builds anything, and not even close to get serious on building anything related to Solar, Wind, power cells , or any other source of "free energy". This is Just a general description, and collection of basics in electricity that you could easily find in Google or Wikipedia.I am so disappointed, and upset . I should had checked the reviews before.What a waste of time to read it, and waste of money. Don't waste your time. Author gives generalizations that do not prove out in real life. Wind and Hydro power are difficult to harness - that's a fact. Author makes it sound easy, meaning he hasn't tried it. He spends time discussing a DC power conditioner/regulator unit to feed the inverter - I have never seen this in the real world. If the author was speaking from experience he would know that a big battery bank is the world's best regulator, and you have to have batteries when you are off the grid. Final example: "If your home uses natural gas and electricity, it may be worth converting to all electrical appliances. There are many sources for heaters and other appliances that are made just for systems like this. They pay for themselves in no time at all!" No off grid system heats / cooks with electric resistance heat. Period. The very latest technology with large arrays and a heat pump can heat a home (except in deep winter when you really need it) with a price tag starting around $40,000. A "do-it-yourself-primer" should not be a work of fiction.
